Apologies for the poor quality of the photo, but as you can see, the record is CLEAR. That's right. CLEAR. I heard from the manager at Crooked Beat that he got a call from the label last night saying there were some errors in the color during pressing, and apparently this is one of those errors. Originally, it was supposed to be sea foam green, but this is WAY better. Just a note on the photo, that's the cover of the album behind the clear -- again, CLEAR -- record.

ReplyDeleteI did get one of these but I haven't opened it yet. Great to hear yours is clear, while the sea foam green is pretty sweet, clear vinyl is of the best sound quality. Any color (even black) is added to the vinyl (vinyl records in their natural state are clear/frost clear colored) which often contributes to static build up. So what you have is a bonus for sure, but its also an unexpected blessing, since I'm sure yours will sound slightly better than the rest. I better go rip mine open!
Thanks for the info on that Jake. I was very confused when I found my copy was clear. I would be interested to find out how many people got clear versus green copies. I've seen more people claim to have clear than green, but that may be a result of those who got the clear version being more vocal about it.

i read somwhere that 4500 out of 10000 were pressed with clear because they ran out of seafoam green
